Medieval Crusader Helmet Black Finish with Brass Cross 16 Gauge

In its simplest form, the great helm was a flat-topped cylinder of steel that completely covered the head and had only very small openings for the eyes and mouth. The Crusader Great Helm developed in the 13th century. The great helm offeres vastly superior protection than some of the previous helmets, such as the nasal helm and spangenhelm. The great helm is today especially popular amongst live-action role players and in medieval re-enactment such as the (SCA) Society for Creative Anachronism. 

 

This Great Crusader helmet is made from heavy 16 Gauge mild steel, made in Black Finish with Brass Cross, Tough 16 Gauge over 6 lbs in weight steel helmet is fully capable of absorbing the shock of combat. 

Great helms were worn with cloth and fiber padding on the inside, this helmet comes without the leather inner (padding), you can add either complete leather inner with chin strap or just the chin strap at a very nominal cost.
